As part of the TAC deal with Norway it was agreed that the EU would examine ways of improving the exploitation pattern for whiting during 2008. As well as discussing options with DEFRA this item is on the agenda for a forthcoming meeting of the NFFO North East Committee meeting which will meet in North Shields on 17th January.
